Building a Brighter World

Kara and I sat down to vision what we want to create this year. After hours reflecting on the awesomeness that is Threads Worldwide and what we’re already building, we ended up with more questions! 

We sat down with each member of the Threads Home Office staff and asked these questions:

• Because of our work together at Threads Worldwide, what became possible in the world?
• How do you want to be known?
• What lights you up?

What emerged from of our conversations is that we want Threads to be a place where people come to come alive. A place where people can plug in their passions and make them even bigger! Ultimately, we want Threads to be the place where people come to build a brighter world together. 

Each one of us has different things that are important to us in our lives and different expressions of what a ‘brighter world’ would look like. Each of us has our unique thing to contribute. We are building Threads so that it is the place where you can contribute your thing. 

When we started Threads we had a vision of the artisans we worked with moving from hustling to put food on their table to being able to contribute to their communities. I mean.. How much talent is lost because women (people) are in a position to just work to survive versus having the space and resources to invent new things, to innovate, to lead… to mother? 

Right now… many of  our partners are getting to that place where they are contributing their own unique self. They are leading by example in their villages of what’s possible when women can contribute. They are an exact parallel to us here – and – what we are all doing here together – it’s serious. 

We are on a MISSION to grow Threads so that we are building a brighter world and giving more women a place to plug in to feel alive!
