Our Artisan Partners in Uganda believe the long-term solution of job creation will break the cycle of poverty. By offering the opportunity to earn fair wages, this cooperative empowers women to invest in food, shelter, and education.
What We Love
Our Artisan Partners in Uganda use recycled paper to craft beads, then paint and string them into gorgeous necklaces and bracelets.
Last year, Evaline took in two neighborhood children after their mother passed away. Her work as an artisan helps her pay for their school, plus school fees for her own four children (including one in university!). She has also used her earnings to pay for her husband’s training as an electrician. Evaline and her husband are now saving for their dream to buy a large plot of land and build three houses on it: one to live in and two to rent.
